Success stories

The Master Career Week is all about creating meaningful connections — between students and companies, between ambition and opportunity. Over the years, countless inspiring encounters have led to internships, graduate jobs, and lasting professional relationships.
On this page, former participants share their stories — how one event, conversation, or experience during MCW became a turning point in their career. Let their journeys inspire you and discover what the Master Career Week could mean for yours.

Jakub Feleszko

I always imagined myself either becoming a chess player or a professional scuba diver—anything but a corporate office job! The idea of sitting behind a desk never appealed to me. Plus, I’m allergic to greenwashing, so when I saw the “sustainable investments track” at MCW, I was skeptical to say the least. But then I attended the Olyx workshop, and suddenly, I found my dream workplace.

Now, I’m working with Olyx on trades involving renewable energy commodities like biofuels made from waste materials (think used cooking oil). We’re literally trying to get people to run their cars and planes on waste! It’s practical, with immediate results—something I really enjoy. It’s the opposite of the dull corporate desk sitting torture. Plus, the freedom here is unbeatable. I get to choose where I work and who I work with. It’s a bit like managing yourself from day one, but with great responsibility comes great freedom (and lots of travel). In just my third week, I was sent to a conference in London. Brussels, Hamburg, Kuala Lumpur? Who knows where next?

MCW taught me something crucial: never assume anything—always ask, and do it politely. People love talking about their experiences, they love explaining stuff and this has been key in helping me grow in the biofuels industry. Every conversation is a chance to learn something new if you ask the right questions.

To future MCW participants, just dive in and enjoy it. And hey, if we meet, I’ll show you the best Slavic party in Amsterdam after our nice dinner!

Pien Kuijer

My name is Pien Kuijer and I joined the EFR Master Career Week three years ago. I am currently doing a sales internship at Procter & Gamble, working on well-known brands like Pampers and Gillette. It’s rewarding to work with tangible products that are closely connected to everyday life.

I first connected with P&G during the MCW, where I participated in the FMCG bootcamp, the Finance bootcamp, and the International Business Trip. Before this, I hadn’t explored the FMCG sector, but during the event I learned how much I liked it.

Marcell Otvos

I am an international student from Hungary and started my Quantitative Finance master’s in September 2023. University had barely begun when I was introduced to EFR’s Master’s Careers Week (MCW) after a lecture. Browsing through the wide range of exciting events, I applied to the Sustainable Investments Bootcamp following my passion for sustainable markets. This bootcamp perfectly blended professional development and social interaction, including lively networking events and a memorable dinner with representatives from all four participating companies.
